Jeremy Allaire Launches Brightcove

Clip_image002_3At today's Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco, Jeremy Allaire talks about Brightcove, a start-up that promises to one day become the Google of Internet TV. Brightcove has three interrelated business applications that help marketers of video content aggregate demand for niche media programs and generate revenues. At one level, video producers can upload media through an easy-to-use website interface, assign digital rights and usage parameters, produce showcase landing pages, and provide thematic search criteria. At another level, the Brightcove e-commerce applications enable video producers fix particular fees for online and offline viewing.

A more powerful and interesting Brightcove application also allows marketers to introduce contextually-targeted advertising to viewers of video content. What's more, Brightcove will actually broker a revenue split between video producers and third-party websites interested in advertising and distributing video content within the context of their website, blog or media portal. A powerful solution for both video producers in search of an online distribution platform that can monetize viewing, as well as marketers targeting niche communities.
